Steven Simon est chercheur principal au Middle East Institute.
De 2011 à 2012, M. Simon a été directeur des affaires du Moyen-Orient et de l'Afrique du Nord au Conseil national de sécurité.
Simon a été directeur exécutif de l'Institut international d'études stratégiques (IISS-US) et directeur correspondant de l'IISS-Moyen-Orient. Il a également été précédemment Hasib J. Sabbagh senior fellow en études moyen-orientales au Council on Foreign Relations et professeur adjoint d'études de sécurité à l'université de Georgetown.
