Thomas I. Palley est directeur du projet de réforme de la mondialisation de l'Open Society Institute.
Auparavant, il était directeur adjoint de la politique publique à l'AFL-CIO. Il a écrit pour l'Atlantic Monthly, l'American Prospect et le Nation, et est l'auteur de Plenty of Nothing : The Downsizing of the American Dream and the Case for Structural Keynesianism (2000) ; "Destabilizing Speculation and the Case for an International Currency Transactions Tax" (Challenge, 2001) ; et "The Economic Case for Labor Standards : A Layman's Guide"(Richmond Journal of Global Law & Business, 2001). Il est titulaire d'un doctorat en économie de l'université de Yale.
